Review in the following interview the results of the application of laboratory and field equipment SensoTech in the Acid Plant of the national copper company. We appreciate the excellent disposition of both the client and the factory to obtain this case of success in mining.

In 2019, Codelco's Chuquicamata Smelter, located in the north of Chile, in the Antofagasta Region, put into operation two new Double Contact Acid / Double Asorption Plants, key works to adapt emissions as provided in DS No. 28, in charge of regulating the level of emission of gases into the atmosphere.

Chuquicamata received a LiquiSonic® Lab test kit to measure concentrations which allowed to achieve the expected results. Subsequently, the device was selected as the appropriate solution to complete the commissioning of the new plants.

These teams came to solve the difficulties of the start-up with the concentration measurement using equipment based on flow and temperature range.

"We selected the Liquisonic analyzers for the reliability of the measurement of concentrations and their operability, especially the expected temperature range, also delivering levels of accuracy of 0.01-0.05%", says Gabriel Araya, Chief Plant Operations Engineer. Chuquicamata Foundry Acid.

Currently, the company operates with 7 LiquiSonic® process equipment and 1 laboratory equipment in a double contact sulfuric acid plant - double absorption.

Codelco's Chuquicamata Smelter plans to acquire new on-line analyzers to be installed both at the inlet and outlet of the acid plant to the storage tanks.
